Any good holistic service designer working in a large scale organization knows that you need to design the whole system. Further how we operationalize our work is a key component to the way that work becomes successful. What is the irony is that we seldom if every apply that same mindset to how we think about the work of design itself in the enterprise. This talk will discuss the growing practice of designing the operations of doing design; how digital transformation is shaping how it is being rethought and made to evolve; and finally stories from organizations who have been successfully formalizing design operations in their enterprises.
